INTRODUCTION
JIWOO CHOI
I am a painter and sculptor who uses color to explore feelings of loneliness and isolation and transform them into feelings of being alive. I associated the pressure from parents' expectations, the melancholy and loneliness felt in social life with the gaze or body of a character blocked from abstract forms, in dark colors, into my work. And it is associated with a variety of aura, bright colors, and the character's free gaze that emanates from the characters to overcome the difficult and lonely situation and to feel alive. By expressing these elements through my work, I allow viewers who feel lonely and isolated to find and feel their shelter so that they can feel alive.
